Erling Haaland is a “dream signing” for Barcelona in 2025 as a countermove to Real Madrid.

According to rumors that surfaced on Monday night, Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, intends to pursue Manchester City star Erling Haaland in 2026 in an effort to strengthen her candidacy for president.

However, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona intends to pursue Haaland now, rather than waiting until 2026. Rather, the superstar Norwegian player, 23, is viewed as a “dream signing” for 2025.

Plans by Barcelona for Haaland

According to the report, Barcelona views Haaland as their heir apparent to Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 37 in the 2025–2026 season.

If the Poland captain plays a certain number of games in the upcoming season, he may stay at Barça until 2025, but at that point in his career, he will be nearing the end.

Additionally, despite the fact that Barcelona will soon have both Marc Guiu and Vitor Roque, the club’s general consensus is that they require a superstar striker to guide the team and coincide with their financial recovery after Spotify Camp Nou opens for business.

In order to counter Real Madrid, who plan to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, as well as to strengthen their ranks, Haaland has been dubbed the “dream target.”

The goal is to establish another legendary rivalry similar to that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Factors that may facilitate Barcelona’s acquisition of Haaland

Considering Barcelona’s financial circumstances right now, Haaland’s transfer is a done deal.

Nonetheless, the team thinks there will be a number of favorable circumstances in 2025 for them to pursue the Man City star.

First and foremost, a return to Camp Nou would increase the team’s revenue streams once more, assisting them in resolving their financial problems.

In addition, Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland’s agent, and club president Laporta get along well; in fact, a few weeks ago, Deco had a meeting with Pimenta.
It should be mentioned that Maxwell, Pimenta’s agency partner, used to play for Barcelona.

Furthermore, Haaland may be able to move on after Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City in 2025, as his contract is set to expire.

A significant punishment may result from the Premier League’s ongoing investigation into the Citizens for numerous FFP violations. A decision must be made by October 2024, and removal from the Premier League is another possibility.

Barcelona may achieve their desired outcome at Camp Nou the following year if all these conditions are met.
