Previews: Manchester United vs Arsenal

The English Premier League’s 37th round begins on Sunday at Old Trafford with a matchup between Manchester United and Arsenal, one of the most intriguing matches of the competition.

Manchester United

Over the season, “The Red Devils” have put on dreadful performances. As a result, the team was unable to progress past the group stage and was forced to humiliatingly exit the Champions League. Erik ten Hag’s team hasn’t performed much better in the English Premier League, where they are presently mired in eighth place. They are only two points behind Newcastle, who are in a European qualification spot. But when compared to their rivals, Manchester United’s performance seems dismal. Clearly, Chelsea is the team that can overcome “The Spurs,” not the struggling Manchester United. Manchester United lost badly, 0:4, away from home, to Crystal Palace in the previous round. All told, Manchester United has only won one of the previous five games.

Arsenal

“The Gunners” are presently leading the league table and are a strong contender for the gold medals. Even though “The Citizens” still have a game left to play, they are only one point ahead of their biggest rival, Manchester City. In essence, City is ahead, and if they score as many points as possible in the final three games, they will win the championship again. Still, Arsenal fights to the very end and shows no signs of giving up. “The Gunners” easily defeated Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in the previous round by scoring three goals in a row.

After being led by Mikel Arteta, they had won four straight games going into this one. Arsenal’s away record is impressive; they have won 12 of their 18 away games and only lost three.
