Mikel Arteta hired professional pickpockets to teach Arsenal players a lesson. Why did he do it?

Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, employed a rather unorthodox method to train his players.

The Spanish coach hired professional thieves who discreetly stole from several players before a team dinner.

Arteta then asked the players to check their pockets, and when they realized their belongings were missing, he told them that he had orchestrated the event to emphasize the importance of always staying alert and never letting their guard down.

It’s worth noting that, Arsenal was in a prolonged battle for the Premier League title but ultimately lost to Manchester City last season.

Preseason matches have been favorable for Arsenal. They defeated Bayer 4-1, following a 2-1 victory over Manchester United, though they previously suffered a 1-2 loss to Liverpool.
