Ferguson’s transfer flop has come under arrest in Brazil. Earlier he was charged of robbing a bank.

Manchester United’s purchase of midfielder Anderson in 2007 is still considered one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s most high-profile transfer failures. Even after the end of his career, he is facing problems, but in a much more serious way.

The 36-year-old Brazilian has landed himself in custody as he is evading child support payments. Anderson owes quite a tidy sum – 330 thousand Brazilian reals or approximately 55 thousand U.S. dollars.

So far, the court decision is designed to encourage the former Manchester United footballer to pay this amount, and detention for one month will be committed if he does not make the payment.

In 2021, another court judgement was handed down against Anderson. The ex-Gremio and Internacional player was accused of hacking into the digital security of Santander Bank and stealing 35 million reals (approximately $6.2 million) from a steel company and then laundering the money in the form of bitcoins.

Anderson is currently in Turkey, where he fulfils the role of assistant coach of Adana Demirspor’s youth team. It was at this club that he finished his career as a footballer in September 2019.
