Details: On Saturday, the president of Libya’s football federation, Abdulhakim Al-Shalmani, submitted his resignation. Following his announcement, a congress was called, where Al-Shalmani delivered a sharp assessment of his tenure, stating he no longer wished to be associated with the failings of Libyan sports.
Quote: “I do not want to be part of the failures in Libyan sports. We faced many challenges during this past period. I thank all members of the General Assembly, and I forgive everyone across all sectors of the sports community. I have a record in international, Arab, and African federations, and no one can deny that,” Al-Shalmani was quoted as saying by Libya Observer.
