Florian Wirtz is a highly sought-after asset for many top clubs, but it appears Liverpool has taken the lead by submitting the first official offer.
The Merseysiders have made their opening formal bid for the transfer. They are offering more than 100 million euros for the player. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing and will resume on Monday as both sides aim to finalize the deal as soon as possible.
Earlier reports indicated that the player had already agreed personal terms with the club. Wirtz is set to earn ten million euros per year.
Incidentally, Liverpool hopes to wrap up the deal within the next 48 hours. If the transfer goes through, Wirtz will become the most expensive player in the club’s history, with a fee exceeding 100 million euros.
Reminder: In 197 appearances for Bayer, Wirtz has scored 57 goals and provided 65 assists.
