The Citizens’ head coach has confirmed Jack Grealish’s departure.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola does not see Jack Grealish in his squad for next season.
“Jack is an exceptional player… but he needs to play. Over the last two seasons, he hasn’t had much time on the pitch, and now he needs to get back to regular football, to feel those butterflies in his stomach from playing every three days, and to showcase the quality he possesses,” Guardiola was quoted as saying by the source.
Last season, the 29-year-old midfielder made 32 appearances, but only started in 10 matches, which made it clear that Guardiola does not see him as part of his long-term plans.
Previously, there were reports of interest in Grealish from Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli—now, these clubs have the green light to begin the race to sign the Englishman.
Reminder: No offers have been made. Manchester City is open to loaning out Jack Grealish.
