Bayern Munich has reached an agreement to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s star defender Jonathan Tah, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Reports indicate that there is a verbal agreement between the club and the player for a summer transfer. Key details have been discussed with the player’s representatives. However, the transfer is not guaranteed yet, as more clubs are showing interest in the 28-year-old central defender.
Jonathan Tah has been with Bayer Leverkusen since 2015, when the club paid Hamburg nearly €10 million for his transfer. Last season, the prominent Bundesliga defender made 48 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals.
It was previously reported that Bayer Leverkusen wants to keep Tah, but is open to offers starting at €20 million. Tah’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2025.
The defender is ready to leave Leverkusen but only for a move to one of the top 10 clubs in Europe.
