Juventus will compete with Liverpool for a Serie A player.

Teun Koopmeiners, an Atalanta midfielder, is once again being linked to Liverpool; Juventus is also reportedly interested.

The Reds are still being linked with more midfield additions despite a major midfield overhaul last summer that included the departures of James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Naby Keita and the addition of four new players.
A frequent transfer target for Liverpool ahead of the summer window is the 26-year-old Netherlands international Koopmeiners. It’s possible that the Reds’ recruitment chiefs are still looking for more depth at the base of midfield.

Koopmeiners has been one of the season’s biggest performers in a new playmaking role for Atalanta, as the team chases Champions League qualification. In 31 appearances across all competitions thus far, he has tallied ten goals and four assists.
Juventus and the Reds are reportedly in “the front row” for the Atlanta star, who is also being pursued by Serie A powerhouse Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Oddly, the exact same wording from a different report a few weeks prior.

As per the most recent report, Atalanta would prefer to receive around €60m (£51m) from a sale, but they are not in need of the money. The amount could potentially go as low as €50m (£42.5m).

This is quite different from earlier reports that stated La Dea would look to acquire Rasmus Hojlund for about £72 million, the same amount they got from Manchester United last summer.
Although Liverpool may not prioritize recruiting players in the center of the park this summer, the club may still need to add more players who can fill the “number six” position given the impending departure of Thiago Alcantara, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Furthermore, Anfield Watch has revealed that the Reds are considering midfield alternatives like Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Genoa’s Morten Frendrup.
