Former Tottenham defender expresses his happiness that Chelsea have not signed Osimhen

The former defender of Tottenham and Chelsea, Jason Cundy, said that he is pleased and glad that Chelsea did not sign Nigerian special Victor Osimhen after Chelsea backed out of the Nigerian deal in the summer due to the presence of Nicholas Jackson with the blue team.

Chelsea wanted to sign the 25-year-old, but the large sums of money requested by the Italian team Napoli stood in the way of completing the deal for Chelsea, after which the story ended with the player going to Galatasaray on loan.

Cundy expressed his elation with the form of the Senegalese international, stating that he would not have been in his excellent goalscoring form if the Blues had gotten Osimhen, added:

“I’m glad we didn’t get Osimhen in the summer because if we did, we wouldn’t be seeing the numbers of Jackson is putting up, But there is a case to be said. Do we need a backup? And Nkunku right now isn’t that backup? And that’s the problem we have as a squad, we don’t really have a genuine backup for Jackson, but because he’s so young. How do you back up someone so young. “So therefore, if you bring someone in, you got to bring someone who’s going to go over Jackson. Who is that player?”
