Mason Greenwood, a controversial forward, will officially leave Manchester United in the next few days.
The English striker has given his complete consent to move to Marseille. Greenwood is scheduled to arrive for a medical examination and to sign a contract that will last until the summer of 2029, and the French club has already booked a charter flight for him.
The transfer of Greenwood will cost €30 million to Marseille. In addition, half of Greenwood’s next transfer fee will go to Manchester United.
Greenwood spent last season playing for Getafe on loan. He scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 La Liga games.
Marseille will not participate in European competitions after finishing eighth in the 2023–2024 Ligue 1 season. The team has appointed Roberto De Zerbi as its new head coach.
