Nigerian fans hold inaugural meeting

They are officially the second Tottenham Hotspur’s supporters club in Africa recognised at white Hart lane.

Currently second on the Premier League table, Tottenham kept their title hopes alive with a 3-0 win over.

On that same day, Nigerian fans of the club under the aegis of Nigeria Spurs Supporters Club met at Freedom Park, Lagos to watch the match together.

Present at the meeting were President of the Group, Akin Kongi, Secretary and Tolu Junaid.

 

Other prominent members at the meeting were Tokunbo AgoroKola AdesinaChike OgeahDemola AdeboyaAkin AkintolaYinka OduntanDokun Oyenuga and Kojo Anan to name a few.

To show their dedication, some of the members traveled from Gombe, Abuja, and Ibadan to Lagos for the meeting.

The Nigeria Spurs Supporters Club started as a BBM group about 10 years ago with a handful of members.

With Premier League rivals, ArsenalChelsea and Manchester United having huge fan base in Nigeria, some Spurs fans came together to form a group.

They grew from Black Berry Messenger group which was formed by the president, Knogi and moved to Whatsapp. They currently have over 90 members.
