Nottingham Forest Boss Accused of Forming a Criminal Organization in Sports

Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, is facing serious accusations from Greek law enforcement, putting him under significant scrutiny.

Marinakis and several officials from the Piraeus-based club have been implicated in an investigation regarding the formation of a criminal organization in football. This group has been accused of involvement in the killing of police officer Giorgos Liggeridis last year during a volleyball match between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.

Nottingham Forest has not commented on the situation, but Olympiacos released a statement describing the allegations as an act of blackmail aimed at tarnishing both the club and Marinakis himself.

Reminder: In October, Nottingham Forest was fined £750,000 for controversial posts made on the club’s social media accounts.
