Xabi Alonso has already been officially named as head coach, but Bayer Leverkusen was not to be outdone and has also found a new manager.
The “Pharmacists” have officially announced that Erik ten Hag is the new head coach of the team. The Dutch specialist has signed a contract running until the summer of 2027.
Incidentally, Ajax was also in the running for the coach, but ten Hag chose the German club.
His previous job was at Manchester United, from which he was dismissed in October 2024. During his two full seasons with the Red Devils, he managed to win both the English League Cup and the FA Cup.
Reminder: The Merseysiders have submitted their first official bid for the transfer. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing and will resume on Monday.
