OFFICIAL: Tuchel appointed as England manager

As expected, the Football Association of England has announced the appointment of the new national team head coach today.

From today, the renowned German manager, Thomas Tuchel, is the head coach of the England national team.

Tuchel’s contract runs until the end of the 2026 World Cup, with an option to extend for another qualifying cycle.

This marks Tuchel’s first experience managing at the international level. His last role was at Bayern Munich, and prior to that, he managed Chelsea, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund.

During his time at Chelsea, Tuchel led the club to victory in the UEFA Champions League.

Reminder: Following Gareth Southgate’s resignation, the interim manager was Lee Carsley, head coach of England’s U-21 team. Under his leadership, England earned nine points in four Nations League matches.
