Van Nistelrooy suggests Amorim made a mistake in selecting his coaching staff

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure from Manchester United left fans with mixed feelings, as his brief tenure earned the loyalty of the club’s supporters. However, the new manager, Ruben Amorim, opted to overhaul the coaching staff, leaving none of Van Nistelrooy’s team in place—a decision the Dutchman believes may have been a misstep.

Van Nistelrooy highlighted goalkeeper coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar, who joined the club this summer. He credited ten Rouwelaar for helping Manchester United’s goalkeeper, André Onana, perform at his best and suggested his absence might be felt by the Cameroonian.

Quote“Ten Rouwelaar worked with young, talented goalkeepers and pushed them to improve at the highest level. He worked with Onana at Manchester United, and I think those months were the best of André’s career while he was with Jelle.

He’s a fantastic addition to any team. He not only improves the goalkeeper’s ability and command in the air but also helps players around the goalkeeper perform better. It’s essential to involve everyone in building from the back, and he excels in that process,” Van Nistelrooy said.

Reminder: Ten Rouwelaar and Van Nistelrooy are now working together at Leicester City, where Van Nistelrooy recently took over as manager.
