The curse of Chelsea! In an odd turn of events, Maurizio Sarri’s departure from Lazio means that the last ten managers of the Blues will not be able to continue their careers come summer.

The final ten full-time managers at Chelsea will no longer be employed in the summer following Maurizio Sarri’s departure from Lazio earlier this week. There are 11 years total on the list, which begins with Andre Villas-Boas and ends with Graham Potter.

Alongside Villas-Boas, the list also includes Guus Hiddink, Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Rafa Benitez, Jose Mourinho, Roberto Di Matteo, and Potter.

Like Hiddink, who retired from management, Villas-Boas has not held a position in football since 2021. Di Matteo is currently the sporting director at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, a South Korean company. Both Benitez and Mourinho were fired by their respective teams in the middle of the season last month for not making enough progress. Both Conte and Potter have not held a coaching position since being fired by the Blues, and Lampard has not taken on a managerial role since his three-month temporary appointment at the team after Potter’s departure. Both Sarri and Tuchel will be leaving Lazio and Bayern Munich mutually, and they will both be searching for other teams.

The list might very well increase to eleven given that Mauricio Pochettino, the current Chelsea manager, is having a terrible season at Stamford Bridge. The strange statistic will increase once more if he does decide to leave Chelsea.

FUTURE PLANS FOR CHELSEA?
The Blues will give it their all when they play Leicester City in the FA Cup on Saturday in an attempt to advance to the competition’s semi-final, as Pochettino’s job is in jeopardy.
