Mbappe commented on his performance at Euro 2024

France lost to Spain in the semifinal of the Euro 2024 and exited the tournament just one step away from the final.

Leader and captain of Les Bleus, Kylian Mbappe, commented on his performance in the tournament.

“My Euro was a failure. I wanted to become the European champion… Now I will go on vacation, I will rest well, which will do me a lot of good, and then I will prepare to start a new life. There is a lot of work ahead,” the forward stated.

In this European Championship, Mbappe scored one goal, which came from a penalty in the third round match of the Euro.

It is worth noting that Randal Kolo Muani is only the third French player to score in the semifinals of both the World Cup and the European Championship. Previously, this feat was achieved by Michel Platini (1982 and 1984) and Zinedine Zidane (2000 and 2006).

Notably, Lamine Yamal, at the age of 16, became the youngest player to score a goal in European Championship history.
