Bayern Munich’s Initial Talks with Burnley Manager

Bayern Munich is weighing its options when it comes to head coach. The manager of Burnley, Vincent Kompany, has been connected to the position at the German powerhouse in recent days.
Sky Germany reports that initial discussions have already taken place between Kompany and the club’s management. Bayern believes Kompany, who speaks German fluently, has a lot of potential.

It is noteworthy that Bayern made the decision in February to sever ties with Thomas Tuchel. Under Tuchel, Bayern only placed third in the Bundesliga this year and advanced to the Champions League semifinals.

Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick were previously approached by Bayern, but they all turned down the offer. The team made an attempt to discuss an extension with Tuchel, but those discussions were unsuccessful as well.

Since the summer of 2022, Kompany has been Burnley’s manager. Burnley was relegated from the Premier League after finishing 19th, despite their convincing Championship victory under his direction. Kompany managed his hometown team, Anderlecht, prior to joining Burnley.
